Wrultizers 4 Banks 0
The Wrultizers were up for this match and were pressing hard for an opening goal which they almost found as early as the fourth minute. John Carr met a Adam Manson corner with a ferocious volley that the Banks Keeper kept out with a stunning save. Moments later and the keeper pulled off a second incredible save when he turned away an Adam Manson header with a fantastic reactionary save.
Banks pushed up the field in an attempt to put pressure on the Wrultizers midfield but were undone by a long ball which released Adam Manson, Manson looked to have left his marker for dead but the defender recovered to make a last ditch tackle but could only look on in despair as he realised he had turned the ball into his own net.
Five minutes later and the Wrultizers increased their lead as their strikeforce continued to create havoc against the Banks back line. Adam Manson collected the ball and twice feinted to take on his marker before laying the ball across to Carr. Carr spun away from his marker before drilling the ball low into the bottom corner. The Wrultizers effectively killed the game of just before half time when the ever industrious Andrew Boyd broke clear to fire in another long range daisy cutter.
With the game won the Wrultizers made the decision to sub the players nearing their disciplinary suspensions with an eye on the upcoming games against the 2nd and 3rd place teams. The withdrawl of these players certainly didn’t harm the team as the Tizers increased their lead with when a cross from the right was flicked into the goal by the Stephen Glaister with one of his first touches. Glaister’s impressive finishing didn’t continue however as he missed two clear cut chances with the goal at his mercy. John Carr turned his marker before curling a shot past the keeper only to see it bounce back of the post continuing his one man vendetta against the left hand post of the South goal at Clickimin South. As the Match was nearing it’s close David McShane cannoned in a trademark freekick that whizzed inches past the post. Banks almost pulled a goal back when Oranje Keeper James Manson who was in no mood to give up his clean sheet spectacularly tipped a header over the bar.
An impressive performance from the Oranje who will now be fired up for their weekend match against Cosmos.
