Wrultizers 2 – Titans 3
There would be no repeat of last years final this year as last years finalists met each other at the quarter final stage. Titans took an early if somewhat fortunate lead when a low driven Adam Thompson cross was turned into the Wrultizers own net by the Stretching Arnold Brown. The Titans took control but tactical changes by the Wrultizers saw them come back into it. An incisive Adam Manson through ball released Stephen Glaister who deftly chipped the keeper from 30 yards.
The second half started with Wrultizers taking control with John Carr and Glaister looking dangerous. Glaister almost found a goal to give the Tizers the lead but his audacious 25 yards volley crashed of the base of the post.
The Wrultizers lost control of the match when a double injury enforced substitution meant they lost the services of first choice defender Mark Davies and Aiden Bennett. Before the new look back line had had a chance to settle Titans had taken the lead. Adam Thompson burst into the box to be taken down for a penalty which was converted by Hagi Halverson.
The Wrultizers started to push forward but were hit on the break when George Polson strode through to finish well. The Titans then made a couple of substitutions, which gifted the Wrultizers back control of the game. The Oranje were pressing hard to get back in the game and got one goal back in spectacular fashion. Andrew Boyd burst forward from midfield hitting a fierce half volley from 35 yards to score a truly stunning goal. Continue pressing as they did however they could not find the equaliser and the match ended 3-2 deny them the chance of a fourth consecutive final.
